The City spoke with arborist Katy Bigelow on the phone after the information request was sent. Ms. Bigelow confirmed the tree is hazardous, and that she provided several recommendations to her client including removal. The code allows the applicant to remove hazardous trees. Removal does not have to be the only option for managing the hazard as previously stated in the information request; rather, removal is the only option that requires a permit. The applicant appropriately applied for a permit to remove the landmark tree.
